| Preparing FileMaker Databases for Hosting |
Step 1. Enabling File Sharing and Hosting Files
To enable network file sharing, you must open each database with an account that has full
administrative privileges.
(Windows) Choose Edit Menu > Sharing > FileMaker Nework
(Mac OS) Choose FileMaker Pro Menu > Sharing > FileMaker Nework
|
Step 2. Turn On FileMaker Network Sharing
In the FileMaker Network Settings dialog box, turn Network Sharing On. Make sure you
have the proper database selected in the "Currently Open Files" window.
|
Step 3. Specify User Access
It is recommended that you do not allow access to all users. Instead, select "Specify users
by privilege set". Select the users that will have access to your database and their privileges.
